COVID-19 UPDATE

At Sandstone our primary focus is the health and wellbeing of our patients and our staff.

We are closely following Government, WHO and NHS guidance and maintaining our normal practice activity for the benefit of our patients.  The advice is rapidly changing, and we will update you of any change to protocol as soon as we possibly can.

We are a small family-oriented practice and we work on an appointment only basis.  This means that we are able to carefully monitor everyone who enters the building. We have also taken the step of contacting all patients by SMS prior to their appointments to ensure that they are aware of the guidance.

If you have an emergency, or you are elderly and / or vulnerable and you feel that you have a problem that may escalate, we would ask that you contact us promptly so that we can arrange to assess you as quickly as possible.

It is normal operating procedure to ensure that our surgeries are always cleaned thoroughly between patients and our instruments are disinfected to the highest standard.  We have also taken the step of disinfecting our door handles and handrails at regular intervals, in addition to our usual thorough daily cleaning routine. We have alcohol gel available for our patients at reception and we will request that you use it upon entry and when leaving the practice.

We have removed all magazines from our patient lounge and would also politely request that only patients and carers attend for appointments at their allotted time, to allow us to limit contact time as much as feasible.

The only reason that you should not attend your appointment is if you have a:

  • New continuous cough
  • High temperature (37.8°C or higher)
  • You have had contact with anyone who has the above symptoms in the last 14 days.

If this is the case, we would request that you contact the practice as soon as possible, to cancel your appointment.   If you have any concerns at all, please contact the practice by telephone and we will be happy to advise you.

Will continue to monitor and update our advice as changes arise and we would ask that you check this link for the most up to date advice prior to your appointment.

Let’s do our best to stay well and to support each other,
