However, it is important to understand how the treatment works, and why you should only seek teeth whitening from a dental professional.

Tooth whitening products used by dental professionals are highly regulated and contain strict levels of the active bleaching agent, which ensures your safety while also being extremely effective. Remember that teeth whitening products are chemicals, if used incorrectly they can cause damage to the teeth and gums. In addition, if you purchase teeth whitening products from anywhere other than a dentist, you cannot be sure that the chemical formulation is safe; you can only guarantee this if you obtain it from a dentist.

Here at Sandstone Dental in Heswall we offer two home teeth whitening systems. The first option is Poladay, which is worn in a custom-made tray for 45 minutes per day, as directed by your dentist. We recommend doing this daily for 2 weeks, at which point you should have reached your desired shade. We also offer Enlighten teeth whitening as our premium alternative. This system has a built-in desensitiser and guarantees to achieve a B1 shade.
Teeth whitening is a great treatment on its own for patients who want a bit of a smile boost, and it also works very well in tandem with other treatments, such as dental implants or restorations.
